Biography: Nathan Gordon received his law degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1939, and began practicing law in Morrilton. In May 1941, he entered the Naval Air Corps. He later qualified as a naval pilot and served more than two years in the Southwest Pacific Theater in World War II. The pilot of a fighter plane named the Arkansas Traveler in the Black Cat Squadron; Gordon received numerous citations, including the Medal of Honor and the Distinguished Flying Cross.
