Biography: Mr. McBryde was a signalman on the USS Laffey, he facilitated communications with other ships. He witnessed the capturing of kamikaze submarines and his ship intercepted planes going to Okinawa in the Pacific theatre. His ship got hit by Japanese airplanes and he lived to tell about it.
