David Elmore was born to Donald and Laura Elmore.  He was raised in Benton, Arkansas and earned his Eagle Scout award from the Boy Scouts of America in 1979.  He graduated from Benton Senior High School in 1982.  In 1987, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio, Television and Film from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR).

In the 1980’s, he worked for UALR, the Arkansas Radio Network, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the Arkansas Motion Picture Office.  After that, he spent sixteen years in Hollywood, California working as an Assistant Cameraman and Post Production Assistant in the motion picture industry.  He has worked on such films as; Men In Black II, American History X, High School Musical and the Cheetah Girls.  He, also, worked on many television programs, commercials, music videos, documentaries and other related projects.

In January 2007, he became one of three Production Technicians for the In Their Words Oral History Project produced by the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN).  His duties are collecting, collating, data basing, and archiving, editing, scheduling, interviewing veterans (including photographing, videotaping and document scanning), uploading the veterans onto the In Their Words web site and assisting in the Education Department and AETN station productions.

Additionally, he worked on the AETN WWII veteran documentary; “Their Journey” in 2007.  He is called to speak to public groups, consult, discuss and advise about the project, assist in the preparation of exhibitions and in the press and publicity for In Their Words.  None of the above would have been possible without the kind and generous help of many people, not the least of which, are the fine persons at AETN.
